Picking the Right Essential Oils for Healing Your Problems

One of the biggest problems that occur is people choose the wrong products for their ailments. Ginger, for example, is known for its ability to relieve nausea, but it’s not going to help with muscle relaxation or anxiety. Understanding the purpose of each extract is critical to getting any benefit from these products at all.

Essential Oils for Skin Problems

Arguably the most effective use of oils is for the skin. Oils can be very thoroughly applied to the surface, and because it doesn’t need to be absorbed into the body, only into the thick layers on the skin tissue, it can be far more effective than for other conditions.

Tea tree, for example, is known to be highly antiseptic and therefore can be used in the treatment of conditions such as athletes foot, ringworm, and other bacterial infections. Also incredibly common, rose essential oil is used by a wide variety of commercial skin companies because of its ability to stimulate and unblock pores. Rosemary can be antiseptic and can help with problems on your skin, scalp, and hair.

Essential Oils for Scars

Scaring can be incredibly depressing and can harm your self-esteem. But essential oils can help to reduce the scaring that you have by healing the skin, softening it and allowing it to rejuvenate. There are a vast variety of oils that can work for scarring because it’s a relatively common issue, but some of the best are lavender and lemon.

Lavender is an antiseptic oil that is thought to help with softening the skin and removing bacteria so that the scars can heal properly. While lemon is invigorating and can spur new skin growth to maximize healing.

Essential Oils for Bruises

As with a scar, treating a bruise is all about reducing inflammation and allowing the skin to heal. As a result, two of the best essential oils for injuries are lavender and tea tree. Lavender is antiseptic while tea tree is fantastic at reducing the coloration from a bruise and reducing the inflammation to allow it to heal while minimizing the pain from the injury.

What to do if you have Skin Inflammation?

If you are suffering from inflammation, you should use traditional medical recommendations like icing and rest alongside certain essential oils. One of the more common oils for inflammation is chamomile which is thought to be soothing and calming. It works by soothing inflamed joints and aching muscles, but can also be useful in treating skin inflammation.

Chamomile, otherwise known as Roman Chamomile or Chamomile, is anti-inflammatory and this is why it’s often used for treat skin eczema and other inflammation symptoms. It can be used multiple times per day as needed alongside rose oil. Rose oil is also thought to be anti-inflammatory, especially when there is dryness of the skin and it also has a sweet and floral aroma which is very pleasant.

Common Essential Oils and Their Uses

  • Bergamot is distilled from the peel of citrus fruits like the bitter orange and is known for its mood balancing and skin healing properties.
  • Clove is extracted from aromatic flower buds and can have incredible pain relieving properties as well as being used to treat nausea and inflammation.
  • Eucalyptus oils are extracted from trees and have a bold minty aroma. This oil is typically used as a pain reliever, but it’s also anti-microbial and can stimulate your immune system.
